Old-Fashioned Twelve Hour Coleslaw

From Shari's collection of old-fashioned recipes, this easy recipe is about 40 to 50 years old

      • 1 large head cabbage, finely chopped
      • 1 large onion, minced
      • 1 cup chopped celery
      • 1/4 green mango, chopped
      • 1/2 cup vinegar
      • 3/4 cup water
      • 1 1/3 cup sugar
      • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
      • 3/4 teaspoon salt
      • 1/4 teaspoon mustard seed
 

Method

Combine all ingredients; mix well. Let stand for 12 hours before eating.

The first 4 ingredients may be put through food grinder if fine slaw is desired.
