Negroni

"In the early 20th century, Count Camillo Negroni, a Florentine nobleman wanted a change from his usual Americano cocktail, so he ordered it spiked with gin.  The bartender created the perfect predinner drink - a mellow harmony of bitter and sweet that's guaranteed to stimulate the appetite." from 500 Cocktails

  • Ice cubes
  • 1 fl. oz. Campari
  • 1 fl. oz. sweet red vermouth
  • 1 fl. oz. gin
  • Twist of orange, to decorate
 

Method

Half-fill a cocktail shaker with ice; add the Campari, sweet vermouth, and gin; and shake well.  Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass and serve with a twist of orange.

Serves: 1
