Irish Coffee

 

Irish coffee both warms and sweetens - a fine combination of effects.

  • 3 cups freshly made strong black coffee
  • Brown sugar to taste
  • 6 ounces of Irish Whiskey
  • 1 cup heavy cream, freshly whipped to peaks
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional)

 

 

METHOD

Heat four Irish coffee glasses by filling with hot water.

Pour out water and put coffee into each glass, filling 3/4 of the way to the rim.

Add desired amount of sugar to each cup and stir to dissolve. Use more sugar than you would take in plain coffee.

Stir in 1 1/2 ounces whiskey to each glass.

Top each glass with whipped cream.

Lightly sprinkle cocoa over whipped cream if desired.

Serves: 4
