Pillsbury's Smoky Barbecued Beef Sandwiches (a 'fast' slow cooker recipe)

A mere 15 minutes prep time is needed for this recipe.

      • 2 1/2 pounds lean (at least 80%) ground beef
      • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
      • 1/3 cup teriyaki baste and glaze sauce
      • 1 tablespoon finely chopped chipotle Chiles in adobo sauce (from 7-oz can)
      • 1 teaspoon salt
      • 10 soft hoagie buns (6 to 7 inch), split

Method

In 12-inch nonstick skillet or Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain well.

In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix beef and remaining ingredients except buns.

Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours.

To serve, stir beef mixture.  Spoon 1/2 cup beef mixture into each bun.

Makes: 10 sandwiches

QUICK TIP:  Refrigerate the remaining chipotle chiles to add zip to chili, stew, beans or eggs.  For extended storage, spoon chiles into a quart-sized resealable freezer plastic bag. , though this won't work
