METHOD
Place all ingredients
in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and shape into balls. Place balls in
a hot pan with a dash of olive oil. Cook balls until they are equally
brown. Do not put balls in the oven because doing so will make them rubbery.
** Grandma used sweet crumbs. She said this would never be done in
her Sicily, but she preferred sweet crumbs- for example, shortcake- because
it gives the meatballs a pleasant, sweet taste. "Italian Bread Crumbs,"
like those sold in the markets may be substituted and taste just fine.
