Standard Texas Chili

Ron sent us this Chili recipe to establish the standard that Texans love. Please read his article about the Texas Chili Cookoff.

  • 2-1/2 pounds of mock tender, cubed
  • 1 can Beef Broth
  • 1 8 ounce can Hunts Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon crystals
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon crystals
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon granulated onion
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Fort Worth Light Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon jalapeno powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Genhardts Chili Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Fort Worth Light Chili Powder
  • 2 tablespoons R.T. Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon powdered garlic
 

Brown mock tender, then drain.

Simmer in Beef Broth and Tomato Sauce for 40 minutes.

Stir in, beef bouillon crystals, chicken bouillon crystals, cayenne pepper, granulated onion, paprika, light Chili powder, jalapeno powder and salt. Cook until meat is tender.

One half hour before finishing, stir in remaining ingredients.
