Cliff's Barbecue Char-Broiled Steak

Call it char-broiled steak or grilled steak or barbecue steak, this tastes good with any name.

  • 1/2 cup dry sherry or rum
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon MSG (optional)
  • 2 1-inch thick porterhouse (or other) steaks

METHOD

Mix together sherry or rum, oil, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice and optional MSG. Add steaks and marinate over night or at least four hours in refrigerator before cooking.

Remove from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for about an hour.

Have a very hot bed of charcoal and throw steaks on the grill. Cook to desired doneness, basting during cooking with the remaining sauce. see note

Serves: 2
