Seasoned Walnuts

Seasoned nuts are the perfect party side dish as they can be made ahead and will satisfy nibblers.

  • 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound walnut halves

Method

In a large pan melt butter and add remaining ingredients except nuts. Stir  until well blended.  Add nuts and toss to coat.  Cook covered over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Let cool when cooking has finished, then drain on brown paper. Do  not use waxed paper as the heat of the nuts could melt the wax.  Store in an  air-tight container.

Enough for a large party of 10 - 12.
