James's Marinara Sauce (& Pizza)

This is one of the essays written as a school project in the Nassakeag Elementary School. Part of a an study on immigration and heritage, the students outdid themselves and raised money for the hungry. Please read from our kitchen to theirs. Each recipe is presented as written by the students. We commend each one for their excellence.

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
  • handful parsley, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • hot pepper to taste
  • prepared pizza dough
  • grated mozzarella cheese (for pizza)

 

 

METHOD

Sauté onions in pan. Add garlic. Add two cans of whole tomatoes. Break up tomatoes. Add parsley, salt and pepper. Add a pinch of hot pepper. Cook about 40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Take pizza dough and flatten to pizza shape. Add sauce to dough then put mozzarella cheese on sauce. Put pizza in preheated oven at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Then pizza is done.
