Method
In small bowl, beat eggs, half and half, nutmeg, pineapple and brown
sugar. Place bread in single layer in 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish. May
need an extra dish. Pour egg mixture over bread, lifting to let liquid
run under bread. Refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, melt 2 tablespoons butter
in skillet. Add 3 or 4 slices bread and cook over moderate heat until
golden brown on each side. Melt 2 more tablespoons butter and cook
remaining slices. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with syrup.
Makes 3 to
4 servings.
