Gourmet Apple-Oatmeal Power Breakfast

This breakfast will give you energy that stays with you all morning. Cranberries are high in C which releases the iron in the raisins when eaten together. And this maeks an ordinary bowl of cereal into a gourmet recipe.

  • 1 tablespoon dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 1/3 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 1 small apple, cored and chopped in 1/2 inch dice
  • 1 teaspoon brewer's yeast (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lecithin (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon blackstrap molasses
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
 

METHOD

Put cranberries and raisins in a small pot with 2/3 cup water. Bring water to a boil.

When boiling, stir in oatmeal. Turn heat to low and add apple. Cook for 5 minutes until oatmeal is soft.

Put oatmeal in bowl. Stir in yeast, lecithin and molasses. Sprinkle walnuts on top. Dig in and then take a good walk. You'll have the energy!
