Southern Corn Dogs

 

  • 3/4  cup  self-rising flour
  • 1/4  cup self-rising cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2  tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1  egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 pound frankfurters
  • Oil for deep frying
 

Method

Mix all dry ingredients with onion.   In a separate bowl, mix egg and milk.  Add wet mixture to dry and stir to combine.

Roll hot dogs in this dough mixture. Fry in deep fat until golden.

Serves: 8
