Indiana Corn Dogs

  • 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup evaporated  milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4  teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • Dash pepper
  • 10-16 hot dogs
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
 

Method

In bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, milk, egg,  paprika, mustard, and pepper. Pour mixture into tall glass.

Thread hot dogs through the center onto wooden skewers.  Dip in mixture.

Deep-fry at 375 degrees until golden brown (about 2 minutes). Drain on paper towels before serving.
