Apple Stuffing (Dressing) for Turkey

  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups dry bread cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 cup diced, unpeeled apples
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

 

Method

Cook onions and celery in butter for 5 minutes, or until tender.   Combine onions and celery with all other dry ingredients. Add broth, and toss.

Yield: stuffing for a 10 to 12 pound turkey.
