Sorghum Molasses Pie

Sorghum has a deep, nutty taste and is more nutritious than plain molasses. It is that nutty taste which makes this pie special.

 

  • Prepared pie crust
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups sorghum molasses

 

 

METHOD

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Make a pie crust and line a 9-inch pie pan. Set aside.

Place eggs in a large bowl and beat well. Add sugar and sorghum. Using a hand mixer, beat for three minutes.

Pour all ingredients into pie shell, place in a preheated 350°F oven on the middle rack, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a knife or toothpick stuck in the center of the pie will come out clean.

Serves 8
