METHOD
Mash strawberries and
put through a coarse sieve. Add sugar to sieved berries and set aside.
Scald cream in a double
boiler. Add sugar and salt and mix well and put in the 'fridge to chill
(at least one hour).
When chilled, stir in
the vanilla and the sieved and sweetened strawberries. Mix thoroughly.
Place in an ice cream
maker and follow directions for freezing.
Yield: about two and
one-half quarts.
