Jillian's Gelatin Mold

This is one of the essays written as a school project in the Nassakeag Elementary School. Part of a an study on immigration and heritage, the students outdid themselves and raised money for the hungry. Please read from our kitchen to theirs. Each recipe is presented as written by the students. We commend each one for their excellence.

  • 3-ounce box of flavored gelatin
  • 16-ounce can of whole cranberries
  • 8-ounce can of crushed pineapples
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 3-ounce box of unflavored gelatin

METHOD

First open the can of pineapples and drain juice out. Put the juice in a pot with 1 /2 cups of water. Heat in pot until boiling. Remove from heat and add flavored and unflavored gelatin. Stir.

In a bowl add the cranberries. Break up until soft and not clumpy. Then add the crushed pineapple and the walnuts to the cranberries. Add the cooked gelatin to the bowl. Stir and add mixture to the mold. Chill until firm.
