Crema di Mascarpone ai Fichi

Simplicity is a hallmark in Tuscany. Enjoy these figs, the recipe discovered in Florence.

  • Six ripe figs
  • Your choice of honey
  • 250 gram (1/2 pound) tub of Mascarpone

METHOD

Wash the figs.  Top and tail and then halve them.  Place the fig halves cut side up on a heated non-stick grill plate (I use a heart smart grill).  Drizzle a little honey into the centre of each half and cook for about four or five minutes.

If you wish to use the oven, place figs into an oven proof dish drizzle on the honey and cook for about 15 minutes or until the figs have begun to caramelise with the honey.

Serve with a generous amount of Mascarpone.
