METHOD
Preheat oven to 180°
C (350° F).
Cream butter and sugar
until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each
addition.
Add sour cream and baking
soda, then beat well.
Add sifted flour, folding
into mixture lightly.
Pour into a greased and
lined 10 x 12 inch baking tin.
Arrange the sliced apples
on top. Combine walnuts, sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle on top of the
apples.
Bake in preheated 180°
C (350° F) oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
Yield: About 48 squares.
Store in an airtight container.
