METHOD
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter a 9 x 9 inch baking pan. Set aside.
Melt butter. Let cool
to lukewarm.
In a medium-sized mixing
bowl, beat together sugar, eggs, cooled butter, vegetable oil and vanilla
until smooth.
Stir in flour, baking
powder, salt and cocoa. Combine well. Add walnuts.
Using a spatula to get
every last drop of luscious chocolate, scrape batter into prepared baking
pan. Bake in preheated 350°F oven until a tester inserted into center
comes out clean, about 35 - 40 minutes.
Cool in pan set on top
of rack. When slightly warm, they may be cut.
Yield: about 16 brownies
