Pecan Chocolate Pie

Chocolate and nuts are born in heaven. This chocolate pie goes well with a scoop of ice cream or with some whipped cream on top.

  • 1 12 ounce package semisweet chocolate bits
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dark brewed coffee (espresso preferred)
  • 2 teaspoons chocolate liqueur
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1 (9 inch) pie crust
  • 1/2 cup pecans halves

METHOD

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt chocolate in top of a double boiler. Set aside to cool slightly.

In medium size bowl, combine sugar, coffee, liqueur. Stir in butter. Combine well.

Whisk in eggs, one at a time. Add flour, melted chocolate and pecans. Stir until well combined.

Pour into prepared pie crust. Arrange pecan halves on top of pie. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes.

Serves: 6 - 8
