METHOD
Preheat oven to 180°
C (350° F).
Cream butter and sugar.
Mix in eggs one at a time. Gradually add flour and mix to form a fairly
stiff batter - if too stiff add some milk.
Pour into a well greased
oven dish. Arrange apples on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and bake
in a preheated 180° C (350° F) oven . Bake for 20 minutes.
CARAMELIZED SYRUP:
Boil sugar, milk and essence until mixture becomes sticky. Pour over cake
just as it comes out of the oven. You can also serve with cream instead
of caramel.
Yield: 1 cake
