English Syllabub

A variation on a classic theme

  • 1 angel cake
  • 8 oz heavy cream
  • 3 heaping tsp sugar
  • 3 oz sherry
  • Maraschino cherries

 

 

Method

Lightly whip heavy cream; add sugar and sherry. Mix thoroughly until sugar is dissolved.

Spread this sauce generously over each slice of angel cake, covering top and sides completely. Decorate with halved maraschino cherry on top of outside corners. This delicious dessert is one of the Dock's many original dishes.
