Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8 x 8 inch square pan.
Cream butter and sugar. Mix in the remaining ingredients, Except for
cranberries and walnuts. When mixture is well combined, fold in the cranberries and walnuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 25 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serves 4-6.
Butter Rum Sauce: Mix melted butter, sugar, and milk together in a small saucepan. Over medium heat, bring to a boil. Stir in vanilla and rum flavoring and remove from heat. Serve hot over cake.
