Straw Stack Sticky Sweets Treats

This is fun to make with children as it is a quick treat, but remember that you are working with very hot ingredients.  Never let the handle of a pot extend where a child can knock it over!

• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup white Corn Syrup
• 1 cup peanut butter
• 6 cups crispy rice cereal
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

METHOD

In Dutch oven over medium heat, melt sugar into corn syrup until it bubbles and sugar is melted.  Stir in 1 peanut butte, and allow to heat until smooth.

Remove from heat.  Rapidly stir in vanilla and rice cereal (don't let this harden while you answer the phone!).

Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and allow to cool

This hardens rapidly and should be ready for sampling within 10 minutes
