METHOD
Preheat oven to 375°
F.
In a large bowl, cream
together butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Stir in
vanilla and pumpkin.
Sift together flour,
baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Add slowly to butter
mixture. Mix until thoroughly combined.
Fold in raisins and chopped
pecans.
Butter cookie sheets.
Using a teaspoon, drop dough in rounded spoonsful on cookie sheets. Leave
space for cookies to expand.
Bake in preheated 375°
F oven until lightly browned, about 15 minutes.
When browned, remove
to wire racks to cool.
Yield: About 4 dozen
