Yemeni Relish

To make this Yemeni relish in the traditional way, you would use a mortar and pestle. Modern appliances are just as efficient and much easier.

  • 4 small jalapeno peppers, chopped
  • 10 medium cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • Salt and freshly milled pepper - to taste
 

METHOD

Put all ingredients in a food processor or blender, and blend until smooth. It will form a paste.

The heat of jalapenos is in the seeds and he white membranes. You can adjust to your own taste by removing some of the seeds.
