Easter Bread

 

  • 1 pound butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1-1/2 cups white raisins
 

Method

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream butter. Add sugar and beat until sugar is dissolved. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each addition.

Sift flour and baking powder, then gradually add alternately with raisins to butter mixture, stirring well.

Beat egg whites; fold in well.

Pour into greased loaf pan and bake in preheated 350°F oven for 45 minutes
