THIS CONTEST HAS CLOSED, BUT WE LOVE CONTESTS and HAVE A NEW ONE:  click here for our latest  contest - a seasonall recipe contest

And the winning recipe is.....

The winning recipe is Cornmeal Crusted Goat Cheese with Fire Roasted Tomato & Shrimp Salsa created by Michaela Rosenthal.  (click to see recipe) To see all the entries, click here.

This contest had us pacing the floor.  The recipes were all astounding displays of creativity and each was as tasty as a chef's creation.

How to pick a winner?  This was not easy.  Pushed to decide among the best of the best, we finally selected this recipe because we liked the way  Ms. Rosenthal used her imagination on all the ingredients and fired up the goat cheese.  And we thought the salsa could be tweaked and adapted for bruschetta or used on a plain baked fish to enliven the taste.  The single recipe had the possibilities for more recipes.

We thank all the contestants.  We had a mighty good time tasting recipes, but more than that, we were dazzled by show of imagination.  The human imagination is limitless.

Whether the tiniest bay shrimp or the largest jumbo shrimp, there is nothing like the savory sweet taste of shrimp.  They are the most versatile of seafood and every country around the globe has their own recipes for use.

We are happy to invite you to enter your favorite shrimp recipe in our contest and proud to have as the prize a clambake for two from The Lobster Place.  The Lobster Place is in New York's Chelsea Market and supplies both the top chef's in the city and those of us who are demanding about the quality of the seafood we buy.  You can read more about them by clicking here.   There is no restriction as to the use of shrimp - be it grilled, boiled, baked, tossed in salad or on pasta, eaten by itself in savory sauce. The recipe may originate from any of the four corners of the globe.
